Activity sensors in the senior's home wirelessly connect through the Onics Squid.link gateway to Care Daily’s AWS-hosted IoT cloud platform via broadband or cellular network to report on activity in the home.

Accurate sensor data informs AI-based model of daily routines

The data from these activity sensors fuels a menu of proprietary cloud and edge computing machine learning algorithms developed by Care Daily to form a model of residents’ daily routines. These models enable the system to capture important insights from the home including changes to sleep patterns, wandering away, bathroom habits, occupancy status, appliance usage, and potential falls.

When the artificial intelligence determines certain activities are significantly outside of normal lifestyle patterns and need human attention, the Trusted Circle of family, friends and caregivers are contacted via SMS to provide help, and the Emergency Call Center may be alerted to dispatch emergency services. Additionally, the smart home services provide families with a fully functional security system that is intuitively designed for use by kids and seniors.

When combined with energy-controlling products such as thermostats, smart plugs, smart meters, and large load controllers, the AI will automatically reduce energy consumption in the home and save on energy costs. The telco estimates deploying to over 2 million subscribers within a 5-year period.
