Are you ready to shape the future of IoT through Mechanical Engineering?

For our Danish office in Aarhus we are looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern who is eager to learn and contribute to the development of innovative IoT solutions. As part of our team, you will gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, testing, and supplier collaboration while working alongside experienced engineers.

Who are we?

Onics is a B2B innovator, delivering high-volume, white-label IoT solutions tailored for leaders in homecare, energy management, security, and Insurtech. We design, manufacture, and bring to market customizable, ready-to-integrate products that power the next generation of smart solutions.

We are recognized as wireless communication experts committed to enabling our customers to build innovative applications while we manage the complexity of hardware and connectivity.

What’s in it for you?

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Get hands-on experience with product housing design in plastics and metals.
  • Contribute to verification and testing of prototypes and components.
  • Support supplier collaboration in relation to tooling and packaging solutions.
  • Assist with tolerance analyses and mechanical documentation.
  • Develop packaging solutions balancing function, branding, and customer experience.

You will take part in real projects where your contributions matter, while receiving guidance and mentoring from experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and development of housings and mechanical parts using CAD (SolidWorks).
  • Assist in verification and testing activities for mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Help prepare documentation, drawings, and reports for suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in tolerance analysis and basic mechanical calculations.
  • Contribute ideas for packaging design and prototype improvements.
  • Fast prototyping using our 3D printer.

We welcome you in our passioned Engineering team

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will become an active part of our engineering team, contributing to the design and development of mechanical components and solutions. While you are still learning, you will play a valuable role in supporting projects with fresh ideas, design input, and testing activities.

You will gain experience with the full product development cycle, with a strong focus on mechanical design, manufacturability, and product quality. Step by step, you will take ownership of smaller tasks and grow into more complex responsibilities, always with guidance and mentoring from experienced engineers.

You will be part of an agile setup, working cross-functionally with hardware and firmware colleagues, and experiencing how collaborative teamwork drives innovation.
