Senior Hardware Engineer
Shape the next generation of IoT hardware
Do you want to play a key role as an entire product portfolio is upgraded – and help ensure that design decisions hold up in real-world production?
We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer who combines strong electronics expertise with ownership, forward momentum and solid understanding for the bigger picture.
About the role
You will join a small, focused hardware team and play a key role in upgrading the IoT portfolio over the coming years. Projects are product-driven, and the solutions you develop have direct impact on the product portfolio and long-term roadmap. Development cycles are measured in weeks rather than months. We focus strongly on time to market and strive for short development cycles built around a fail-fast methodology.
You will work across the full lifecycle: component selection, electronics design, lab testing and validation, and in close colaboration both with the firmware team and internal production engineers as well as external production partners.
With high volume production, your design choices must work not only in theory – but at scale.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on design and develop hardware systems including analog/digital HF circuits, sensor interfaces, RF, and low power power supplies. Low power design and optimization
- Design for Manufacturing (DfM) not as an activity but integrated into your design thinking including focus on sourcing strategy, second sources and supply security.
- Cross-functional coordination with, firmware, software, mechanics and production engineering
- Actively contributes to sprint planning, reviews, and agile workflows.
- Promote continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices, tools, and automation.
You are expected to drive your own tasks, proactively involve relevant stakeholders, and ensure that critical deadlines are met without compromising quality.
What you bring
You are an experienced hardware engineer who combines technical depth with drive and accountability.
You likely have 5+ years of experience in electronics development and hands-on experience within:
- Embedded systems and microprocessor interfacing
- Power supply design
- HF/RF technologies (Bluetooth, BLE, Zigbee or similar)
- Preferably high-volume production environments and their design implications
Experience with low power design is a strong advantage, as is familiarity with compliance and directives such as EMC and battery regulations.
On a personal level, you are structured, goal-oriented and self-aware in your expertise. You understand your strengths and know when to seek input to ensure the best possible solution.
You think holistically and understand how design decisions impact sourcing, production flow, cost and long-term roadmap. You take responsibility not only for your own design – but for how it performs in the business context.
You know when something is good enough to move forward – and when it requires further refinement. You are comfortable making decisions and standing by them.
You are communicative and proactive. You engage across hardware, firmware and production rather than working in isolation. You are comfortable in an informal and direct tone and contribute constructively to the team dynamic.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership, finishes what they start and drives projects safely across the finish line.
