Inspiring the next generation: Marketing intern at Onics

October 21, 2025

Experience is one of the most valuable teachers – especially when it comes to working life.

Many students finish school without ever having stepped into an office, which can make the transition from the classroom to the workplace both daunting and surprising.

A valuable exchange for all

Internships can help bridge that gap, giving students hands-on experiences in a real workplace, helping them make more informed choices about their education and career paths.

At Onics, we believe in giving student interns not just a glimpse of working life, but a genuine opportunity to contribute, learn, and grow, while experiencing how every role contributes to the bigger picture.

Whether it is in marketing or engineering, our aim is to help them become more informed about what career possibilities suits their interests and talents best. At the same time, student interns provide us with new perspectives and ideas that help us see our work with fresh eyes.

A marketing intern from across borders

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Sashia, a 3rd year high school student from Switzerland, to our marketing department for a week-long internship.

A student of economics and law in Switzerland, Sashia found particular interest in the field of marketing.

During her time with us, she got to experience the everyday in a marketing department, gaining experience with various tasks like conducting brand research, writing news articles and blog posts, and creating social media content.

“Being at Onics was an extremely valuable experience which you could never get at school. I got a great insight on how it was to work in an office and felt like I could finally apply my knowledge. It was totally different, and I really enjoyed it”, says Sashia.

Bridging education and industry

Hosting student interns like Sashia gives us more than an opportunity to inspire young talent – it helps us stay curious, open, and connected to the next generation of thinkers.

“At Onics, we view it as part of our corporate social responsibility to contribute to the development of future talent. By helping young people explore their career paths and understand how businesses work, we aim to bridge the gap between education and industry – and, in doing so, help build a more inclusive, informed, and future-ready workforce”, says Dorthe Gårdbo, Director – Head of Strategic Marketing at Onics.

We look forward to continuing this tradition at Onics and welcoming more students in the future.
