Smart Siren

Combined siren, voice prompt, and range extender
The Zigbee-based Smart Siren has several functionalities. Firstly, the siren can emit a loud sound, making it suitable for security purposes. If intruders, burglars, or other unwanted guests enter your customer’s property, the siren emits a ∼3 kHz alarm sound (90 dB @ 1 m) and sends a notification to the smart home system.
To protect your solution, the Smart Siren is EN50131 alarm certified and has a tamper switch to detect if the unit has been opened, which makes it a great addition to any home security system.
Enable your solution to talk to the customer
The Smart Siren allows you to use voice prompts to support the normal siren functionality, which ensures customers don’t need to remember patterns for different alarms. Voice prompts can also be used to accomplish important tasks such as notifications and confirmation of actions.
In a home care solution, the Smart Siren can be used to remind residents of taking their medication. Combined with a Smart Button or Panic Button, seniors living with relatives who care for them can easily activate a voice message saying that they need help in cases of an emergency. Similarly, the Smart Siren can give confirmation to seniors who have pressed a Panic Button that help is on its way.
The voice prompt of the siren further has uses in security solutions as it can confirm when users activate or deactivate an alarm system or informing the user of open windows when they want to arm their security system. In case of an emergency, the voice prompt can support the siren functionality by stating where in the home the emergency occurred (e.g. "intruder detected in the kitchen", "fire in the basement".
Voice prompt communication with the user
The Smart Siren includes a voice prompt. You can either decide what you wish the voice prompt to say or you can let your customers decide. The Smart Siren has capacity for 130 seconds of sound distributed over 256 sound clips. The siren can play various types of audio such as music, sounds, or speech in up to 8 different languages.
You can record standard messages for the speaker to play in certain scenarios, such as “alarm”, “fire” and “motion” in combination with areas like “kitchen”, “living room” and “bedroom”. For instance, you can program the voice prompt to say “alarm activated in living room” or “fire detected in kitchen”.
Connected to a Squid.link gateway, the sound packages can be wirelessly and easily updated (OTA-updates), making it easy for you to add new sound files to an existing solution.
Please note: Customization options are only available for high-volume roll-out (MOQ 10 000).
Range extender with battery backup
The Smart Siren also features a range extender functionality that can strengthen Zigbee communication between devices and the gateway, for instance if devices are placed far from the gateway and the signal is weak.
The Smart Siren has a battery backup, so it will still be able to communicate in case of a power cut. The decive includes a tamper switch that detects opening of the unit, making it suitable for alarm systems.
